How does CGT work?
Cytokine-genetic therapy is based on administering recombinant cytokines—Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) and Thymosin alpha-1—which are signaling molecules.
- In cancer patients, the body’s production of its own cytokines—particularly TNF—is reduced, and endogenous TNF is insufficient to resist the disease.
- TNF and Thymosin alpha-1 increase the synthesis of Tumor Necrosis Factor. As a result, TNF molecules bind to TNF receptors on tumor cells, leading to tumor DNA damage and cell death.
What medications are used in CGT?
- CGT uses recombinant cytokines with an improved formulation: Interferon-gamma, Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF), and Thymosin alpha-1. These agents help stimulate the body’s immune response to cancer cells.

How is genetics related to CGT?
